Scheduling Appointments

Virtual Office Hours

My virtual office hours will be at [TIME] on [DAYS]. I will be available during these hours for general questions about the course content and assignments as well as discussion of individual concerns and issues. So that I am prepared for meeting with each student and because some sessions may include sensitive information, I ask that you schedule an appoint during virtual office hours. You may do so using the Canvas Calendar Scheduler. We will meet via the Auburn University web conference tool - Zoom.

To schedule an appointment:

In Global Navigation, click the Calendar link.
In the Calendar sidebar, click the Find Appointment button.
The name of the course displays in the Course drop-down menu. Select the course where you want to look for an appointment, then click the Submit button.
View the appointments available for the course. (Faded time slots indicate the time slot has been reserved.)
If your calendar is set to either the Week or Month view, and there are no available appointments in the visible date range, the Calendar will let you know the date of the next available appointment. You can click the date in the window to view available appointments.
In the calendar, click the time slot you want to reserve. In the appointment window, you can view the appointment time, calendar, and details. If you want to leave any comments for your instructor, you can type them in the Comments field.
To sign up for the time slot, click the Reserve link.
Once you have reserved a time slot, the time slot fades in the calendar.

To change an appointment:

If you want to choose another time slot instead, click the new time slot and repeat the reservation process.
If you choose another time slot, the Calendar will confirm you already have a reserved appointment. If you want to reschedule with the new appointment time, click the Reschedule button. However, if you want to keep your original appointment, click the Do Nothing button.
When you are finished with course reservations, click the Close button.

To change or completely cancel an appointment:

View the appointment added to your course calendar.
Click the appointment time and click the Un-reserve link.
In the comment field, let your instructor know why you need to delete your reservation. Click the Delete button.

Zoom

Zoom is a cloud-based platform for video and audio conferencing, collaboration, chat, and webinars across mobile devices, desktops, and telephones.

You must sign-in to Zoom in order to access your Profile and Schedule meetings. You may sign-in from either the webpage or from the Client or App on your computer or device. If prompted, choose Single Sign-On (SSO) and enter “Auburn” as the domain. You will then be taken to the AU AUthenticate login page where you will use your AU credentials to sign-in to Zoom.

Note: Sign-in must be completed before starting or joining a meeting in order to have full permissions.
